Woman's size 30 inches
YARN DESCRIPTION:
Fancy boucle yarn or similar (see GAUGE DATA); approx. 225g (7.5oz)
GAUGE DATA:
Body knitted by hand on 10mm needles
Edging crocheted on 5mm hook or Ribbing knitted by hand on 6.5mm needles
Gauge (stocking st over 4 in = 10 cm): 12.0 st by 12.0 rows
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS (ins) :
Chest: 32.2 ... with Moderate fit
Ribbing width: 23.5
Front neck width: 2.9
Armhole: 16.2
Front neck depth: 3.1
Body length: 17.5
Top neck width: 5.8 include ribbing 2.5
Collar length: 1.0
Ribbing width: 14.5
Sleeve length: 1.0 include ribbing: 1.0
BACK:
If ribbing is required:
FRONT:
1-2 Follow steps 1,2 as for back.
3. Armhole. Mark this row at both ends for cap sleeve. Continue until armhole measures 5.3 ins (16 rows).
4. Shape neck. Work both sides at the same time. Work 21 sts. Slip the next 10 sts to a holder. With a second ball of yarn, work remaining 21 sts. Dec 1 st at neck edge every row 4 times, until 17 sts remain.
5. Work even until armhole measures 8.7 ins (26 rows). Cast off 17 shoulder sts loosely.
LEFT SHOULDER SEAM:
1. Use backstitch to sew front to back along left shoulder seam.
ROUND NECK SINGLE BAND COLLAR: by hand on size 6.50 mm needles (If ribbing is required)
1. With right side of work facing, pick up and knit 18 sts from back neck holder, 11 sts from left front neck edge, 10 sts from front neck holder, and 11 sts from right front neck edge. Total 50 sts.
2. Knit 1.0 ins (4 rows) in K1P1 ribbing.
3. Cast off loosely in ribbing.
RIGHT SHOULDER SEAM: as for left shoulder seam.
CAP SLEEVE RIBBING: by hand on size 6.50 mm needles (If ribbing is required)
1. With right side of work facing, pick up and knit 50 sts between armhole markers by picking up one st for every row.
2. Inc to 52 sts.
3. Work in K1P1 ribbing for 0.4 ins (approx 2 rows). Cast off loosely in ribbing.
FINISHING:
1. Sew side seams using invisible seam. Use backstitch to sew remaining
seams.
2. Crochet an edging around the neck, armholes and hem using a 4.5mm hook
if desired.
3. Sew in all loose ends.
NOTES:
1. I crocheted a single edging around the armholes to firm them up, but left the neck to roll naturally.
